Globe-Trotter is a brand of modern heritage. Established in 1897, the iconic suitcase design remains unchanged and is still hand made in England.

Globe-Trotter is a uniquely hand made product. Entirely constructed from Vulcan Fibre, a natural wood top frame, cloth lining and leather trimming. All of these elements come together in the hands of skilled craftsmen in the Globe-Trotter factory, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire. Many of the craftsmen have been with the company for decades. Vulcan Fibre, otherwise known as vulcanised fibreboard, invented in 1851 is as light as aluminium, yet as hard wearing as the finest leather. Multiple layers of paper are specially bonded and coloured to an exact specification with the design and production of this fabrication remaining one of Globe-Trotter’s most closely guarded secrets.

In terms of anecdotes, we have historical references and have always been strongly associated with past Great British icons: in 1901-04 Captain Robert Falcon Scott was the first person to explore Antarctica extensively by land with his trusted Globe-Trotter luggage; in 1924-29 Sir Winston Churchill was never without his Globe-Trotter attaché case whilst serving as chancellor of the exchequer; in 1947 Queen Elizabeth II chose Globe-Trotter cases for her honeymoon with Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh; and in 1953 Sir Edmund Hillary conquered Mt. Everest taking Globe-Trotter cases on expedition to base camp.

Current clients include Daniel Craig, Kate Moss, Ronnie Wood, Bryan Ferry, Sofia Coppola, Kylie Minogue, Dita von Teese, and Agyness Deyn.
